Wattle Partners and ASA team up to boost financial literacy across Australia

The retirement advice specialists have teamed up with the association to bring greater levels of financial literacy to more Australians. It comes more than a year after the successful merger of the ASA with the Australian Investors Association.

In a move set to empower Australians with the tools and knowledge they need to make smarter investment choices, Melbourne retirement advice specialists Wattle Partners have reamed up with the Australian Shareholders’ Association (ASA), one of the country’s largest not-for-profit groups dedicated to retail investors, to improve financial literacy standards and provide both new and existing Wattle clients with financial knowledge resources.

With this new partnership, Wattle clients will gain complimentary access to ASA membership, which comes with resources aimed at enhancing their investment knowledge. The ASA provides members with access to educational programs and community events, while the group also does important advocacy work that protects the rights of investors.

“Our goal is to always offer the most comprehensive and relevant resources to our clients,” said Drew Meredith (pictured, left), principal at Wattle Partners. “This partnership is an excellent opportunity to ensure that Australians are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the complex world of investing.”

  • The partnership follows the 2023 merger of the Australian Investors Association (AIA) with the ASA, a significant development aimed at uniting efforts to improve financial literacy and advocate for individual investors. Jamie Nemtsas (pictured, right), principal at Wattle Partners, played a key role in facilitating this merger as the acting chair of the AIA.

As part of the new partnership, ASA CEO Rachel Waterhouse expressed her excitement about expanding the organization’s reach. “This collaboration with Wattle Partners, along with the launch of our Financial Advisers Directory Panel, will help us deliver even more value to our members,” Waterhouse said. “By partnering with Wattle, we can offer Australian investors the resources they need to make better, more informed investment decisions.”

The partnership between Wattle Partners and the ASA goes some way beyond offering investment advice. Wattle says the aim is to build a community of “knowledgeable, empowered investors” who can confidently navigate the complexities of the financial world. The collaboration ensures that Australians not only have access to expert advice but also to a broader network of educational resources that can help them make more informed decisions, whether they are beginning their investment journey or preparing for retirement.

Founded in 1960, the ASA is Australia’s leading independent, not-for-profit association for individual investors. Its mission is to protect shareholders’ rights and provide a platform for retail investors to connect, learn, and grow their investment knowledge.

Wattle Partners is a financial planning firm specializing in retirement planning, investment strategies, and superannuation management. The firm’s focus is on providing tailored advice to ensure clients achieve their ideal retirement. Wattle’s approach emphasizes personalized service, with a commitment to educating clients on how to optimize their investments for a secure financial future.
